i think, in a car which is clear of the grid, russel culd definetly do more verstappen esc job, but i don't see him winning in a 2-3 tem championshipfight, which is what puts him behind people like max, fernando, lewis, norris and charles.

Russel still needs to learn the lesson Max had in Monaco in 2018. You don't win a race by overdriving and making mistakes. It's Max's consistency that won him Canada and his many races since that point. It's like George is still trying to prove himself and making unforced errors. Canada and Singapore in 2023 were low points in his career.

Leclerc and Verstappen was the same though. Time will tell.

When he loses he's bad. When he fights against front runners and gets a podium while Lewis is behind him, he still gets criticised more

George should iron out some of these mistakes that he has been making, but I think Toto is justified to backing him as a team leader. I have a feeling that George Russell will start improving as time goes on.

Russell is still a young driver who only drives for a team who can fight for podiums. Pressure will show if he can rise to the acation.

Daniel IMO isn't one of the best 20 drivers on the planet he has had his time and there's plenty of young drivers who deserve a chance

George is like my buddy I sim race with. Every now and then he’ll put down a quali lap and start better than me. Then the race comes and he’s slow, makes 4 mistakes in 5 corners, and gets left in the dust

Alonso is one of the absolutely all time best, period! Regardless of what people think of him, Alonso, the driver, is incredible. In order to be a real Winner, you have to have a certain persona, if you look at greats like MSC & AS, they both had it as well. He will be, in my book, always be one of the absolute best right next to AP, MSC & AS. Forza Alonso.

GR is not a world champion material. Sure, he's not bad but he's certainly not that good. To be honest, Oscar Piastri has more potential and of course, manner. GR cracks under pressure, has a big ego even when he was driving for Williams, yet, he can't back it up. Sure, he's probably good looking hence it can attracts sponsors and oh, he's a Brit. Having a Sainz-Kimi line up is much better than GR-Kimi. GR shouldn't drive for top teams who's running for the championships.

Magnussen ain’t been bad, had it not been for him the team wouldn’t have scored in Jeddah, he did a great job in Melbourne, he was decent in Bahrain & Japan and was actually quite quick and decently faster than Hulk in Canada, should’ve been in the points had it not been for Haas. To me he’s been much better than Zhou, Sargeant & Checo this season at the very least.

I agree that George is far from the finished article but he makes these mistakes because whenever he has a sniff of a win he pulls out all the stops and leaves no margin for error, this makes him absolute box office to watch. I love it.

He’s not my favorite driver, but Russell hasn’t had a car capable of doing much better than he has. Look at what he did in Sakhir 2020 when he filled in. People are also putting way too much hype on Antonelli. He’s looked very average so far in F2, and I think would look l like a Logan Sargeant if he were in F1 next year. He should be put on a path similar to Piastri’s (although overall, I think Piastri is better now and even when he became the Alpine reserve).

George used Lewis data, which is why he was able to reach pole. Lewis was the fastest in Practice 3 in Canada, and no other driver came close. When it came to qualifying, Mercedes turned down Lewis' car. This is what Jacques Villeneuve asked Toto Wolffman about. If Mercedes is sabotaging Lewis, how can he compete with George? Lewis engineer stated that soft and hard tyres were available on Sky TV. Lewis preferred soft tyres, but the engineer demanded Lewis use the slower hard tyres. Mercedes did this so Lewis would not compete with George. Lewis was 22 years old when he was a rookie, and he also won the Formula Two title.

Eccleston stated on the Brawn GP documentary that the F1 teams regularly makes one driver's car faster, which is what Mercedes is doing.

I’m fairly certain someone out there might have mentioned this but if things with Daniel Ricciardo in F1 actually didn’t worked out, I think it would be best if he moved on towards other Motorsports. Like the World Endurance Championship?? I mean many former F1 drivers have found success over there (if not more) than they did when racing in F1.

Russell is just what I thought he was for the last six years or so; a one lap wonder who can sometimes turn it on in the races but nothing to be counted on. I'm fairly certain Hamilton isn't giving his best at this time. Most drivers in his position wouldn't, but we saw the true gap last year where Russell was beaten by three other teams in relation to Hamilton.

RE: Toto coming on the radio to talk to Lewis - At one point in Mercedes losing days, either 22 or 23, Lewis is (justifiably) complaining about how bad the car is, and Toto comes on the radio and says, "Lewis we know the car is bad. Please drive it." It was pretty funny.
